More good news! Today at 2:00 PM we pile into the car and head to the
Oceanside Dog Pound to claim our San Onofre farm dog. After watching
all the happy dog owners at Old 'Nofre, I want to fit in with the crowd.
I have two names for my new pooch Chew or Crapp.. Help me choose by
entering your choice for his name. I''m going to SMXL for a nice nylon
weave, preferably red. Our next stop will be TARGET for a blue neckerchiejf
so pooch ban look like a CRIP or better yet, a green one so he could be a
PIRU. I should check with the regulars on what to feed pooch. I'm hoping
they sat phsillium husks cause that'll firm him up. I'm also have a Sxip
Frye book on my list about surfing dogs. I sure hope he, the dog not
Skip, doesn't slobber and steam up the rear window. Also, we're going
by the War Surplas Store to purchase an aluminum drinking bowl for
pooch.

"Hey shoulder hopper, my wave, my wave!" Poor San Onofre can't do
anything right. Pin this, Pat Curren, Greg Noll, Peter Cole, Butch van Artsdalen,
screaming across a monstrous 25 footer, at Wiamea, Ricky Grigg drops in,
five guys a quarter mile out to sea, the original five make it to shore pull
their boards, screaming, "Shoulder hopper, shoulder hopper,"at Ricky.
If it's too hot in the kitchen, get the hell out, play bocci balls, or go home. If
you think this isn't fair ask Paul Strauch what you should do. Extra care
and patience should be taken by the experienced rider, forgiveness should
be bestowed on the novice rider, who is probably thinking you must crawl
before you can walk, and walk before you can run. San Onofre was never known
for their surfers. Or were they noted for their photograpers. Now then, you must
remember Old 'Nofre is a family beach and the Club wants to keep it that way.
Once again, picture yourself on an overcast 8' day with Lance, Mike, Tom,
Miki, Mogoose, Little Johnny, Dewey, Kemp, Linda Benson, Kivlin, Marge
Calhoun, and hotographers Grannis, Steve Sakamoto, Bud Browne, Warren Miller,
Pete Peterson, Bobby Patterson. Gee Whiz, we never knew what shoulder hopping
was except part of the game. Didn't the Surf Punks record "My Wave" and
it became San Onofre's Cry of the Warrior.

Next time watch the judging stand, see how they look at one
another's card for help in ihe final tally. The association with whom I
was sitting had tee "Kid n'Bro" winning easily, but we also had the
15 horse to win in the Derby. Surfing contests are great for the
first 3 heats, but after watching and waiting for Tony's Market's
do-nut Express, things kinda became excruciating, and we lost our
concentration amd nodded off. Allan Seymour saved surfing with his Hobie
Classico, surfing at Old 'Nofre had become staler than yesterday's
beer. If JT didn't win there should be an investigation. If I can find
the winners I'll do a victory BLOG, manama en la manana.
Oh well, nobody said it would easy!
