THEN AND NOW!
Thursday, San Onofre 2005, with all the Turkey Day freaks
hoping to fit the mold for the 'Nofre regular, loaded up all outdoor
cook-out stuff from deNaults into their Cadillac Escolade and
went to "Surfing's Close Encounter", the traditional T-Day
outdoor dinner. There were hard-core bocci-balling heroes,
7 oz. Bud Lite boozers, pet owners, Baja trailer house locals,
and that ilk, well you know who they are, you see them
hanging at the "Rib", gray complexion and bursting purple
facial veins. Films, prior to the non sandy, non cold turkey
we watched Ben Marcus film 100 years of Haw'n surfing,
from Duke to Simmons. The best received segment was John
LaRonde's color film of Nofre in 1946. There were no log
balancers, no throngs of clowns parading back and forth to
toilet to change wetsuits. Best of all, there were no trendy
iceplant or bamboo shoots making the beach look like Guam.
Everyone takes responsibility for planting that crapp, and
should be punished. The best photo may have been the on of
the new (1946) shack, adjacent to a nice windmill, without an
obscene middle finger-mill on a deserted, non-cluttered white
sandy beach, several yards longer than the present. The film gave
an impression that people cared how their beach looked. Oh well,
trendy is as trendy does.

It seems everyone is BLOGGING nowaday, from Starbuck
to beach laptops. So, every thung is about flat waves
and BIGKOOK'S problems. BK called Dr.Laura yesterday
ckaiming he'd hit rock-bottem at 'Nofre, wants to leave all
Thanksgiving beach celebrations, rent a studio at Motel
Sea View across from the freeway, drown his sorrows, weep,
sob, and declare himself a victim and wallow in self pity. I
hope ge has second thoughts, because he would have dozens
of donated Turkey suppers with all the trimmings, albiet
served on paper plates and plastic utensils. BLOGS are so huge
they have age cut-offs. BIGKOOK is the odest, Mason da'K-Man
the youngest. The great thong about BLOGS are they seperate
the "wheat from the chafe".Remember, BLOG, BLOD, BLOG.
Don't br a Zerp Hero, get out of the water before it's too late.

It sure is nice to go to the beach on a Sunday, and see
real beach "peep", if you know what I mean. Izzy, Danielle,
and "Surfer's Healing" had an old fashioned beach barbaque
cookout for Ella Paskowitz', 16th birthday. Smack dab in the
middle of the party was Danny Brawner from the Endless
Summer band, The Sandals while across the dust ridden old
dirt toad, in Four Door's Dressing Room, Denny Aaberg was
strumming Crumple Car from Big Wednesday. THEBIGKOOK
broke away from the Greenbelt Quagmire to knock down 3
enormous "Liz Taylor" sandwiches, hamburger buns, relishes,
onions, tomatoes, with huge 3/1 pattie, BBQ snausages, and
a slice of pepperoni pizza crammed in, washed down with
a 7'11 cup filled with Pagen Pink Ripple. It seems when you
left yesterday, you knew you were at the beach.
