September 14, 2004 The party's over.

After Tinker Bell's, sparkling wings, magical pixie dust settled, our
SOSC BOD took time to inhale the contest's doings, and boy were
they pleased. So many great things happened, attendance soared,
tee sales skyrocketed, curios, boxes of Indio Dates, figuratively,
thousands of Club postcards, and best of all there wasn't a dry eye
in the room when awards were given out. For example, most boring
segment, well you guessed it, the "assisted living" heats for elderly
folk who just don't know when to call it quits, those 62 plus sent in the
water at 4:30 PM both days, fighting chop, glare, and worst of all, JT
and Jetliner announcing. The creme de la creme was the record shattering
125 entries, eight and under, Boogiers, with mom pushing the little tykes
into the non-existent swells. It seems the only disgruntled person was Don
the Gatekeeper, and boy, was he pissed. Mickey Munoz won the "Most Alert"
judge of the day, an honor well deserved just trying to keep Pez awake for
11 hours. Commissary Award "The Ronald" went to Mike, and Michele Retzer
and their McDonald's Sky Box for feeding a whole gang of famished Club
member's children throughout the weekend. Congratulations, SOSC BOD,
Rangers Dairywimple, and Craig Ephriam, you guys won an Oscar.
