October 25, 2004 The truth is out.
"This is our life" confessed one diehard 'Nofre right after
the SOSC hastily called BOD meeting yesterday morning ät main beach,
"Please don't change it." I guess members ain't happy with the way things
are going. The diehard continued, "We were born to surf, to lead the life
as beachcombers forever." The old timer preached of the "old days" when
the juice bar stood beside the the horsemeat market on PCH 101, across
from San Clemente State Park. Another real old guy testified how he once
slept in thr Park laundry room during winter to keep dry. One old surviving
replica from the original Club says he frequents the Red Fox Lounge to
be with all old people and talk about Riley's Waffle Shop, Texaco Gas Station,
and the San Onofre Cafe. It's nice those Old Timers hanging in there like that.
"Forgive us, we're just stuck in our ways".
