Once Hawk hit bottom in advance of his drop knee turn he took a quick glance left and saw a total eclipse, or in this case the wall of death, in the direction he choose to go. The Breakwater is a natural left slide off the groin. The Hawk recapitulated, drove the 30 feet to the peak, did a wide leggy maneuver, cranked a snap turn, went back right, heading directly at the massive, boulder shrouded, wall of the groin. Lifeguards came out f rescue One headquarters to witness the phenomenon. The parking lot, filled with onlookers, became as thunderous as the growing surf, people were cheering loudly for The Hawk.

Hawk was in perfect trim, 30' above the trough, going full throttle, focused on the wall of granite before him, approaching rapidly. For a long while The Hawk had a move he'd wanted to introduce, a fly-a-way reverse kick out. Now or never, he thought. At maximum speed he timed it perfectly. The 20' high granite fortressed breakwater wall was there, the Hawk was ready. Facing the super-duper wave, he stepped back, his shoulders rotatating swung his board as he thrust the tail into the wave sending it spinning high into the sky, over the breakwater's crest, right into the other side, which is now known as King Harbor. Tomorrow the Rescue.
