When we last appeared we had arrived at the Redondo Beach Breakwater with "The Hawk" at the wheel of his notorious Willis Jeep stacked with boards.
As you recall the ground swell reached gargantuan proportions, waves to twenty five feet in height. The January morning sky was filled with mist and haze, byproducts of the thunderous surf. Hawk was first into the water. He slammed his board into the boil, backwash churning the shorebreak giving a glacier white appearance. His timing was perfect, he made it to surfline in record time. After all he was now 500 yards out to sea. He sat straddling the board, caught his breath and let out a banshee-like "whooyahh" audible above the roaring combers. His passengers floundered in the shorebreak unable to make it out to sea.

Hawk watched as the huge peak approached, bounced off the breakwater jumping to an astonishing 30 feet. Before he knew it, Hawk was sucked up the face of the massive peak all the way to the summit, catapulted down and across the face. He felt great speed as his board dropped the 30; straight across the wall of water.
