Documentary about the odyssey of 85-year-old, legendary surfer Dr. Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz, his wife Juliette, and their nine children - all of whom were home schooled on the beaches of Southern California, Hawaii, Mexico and Israel.

'Rated C, you have just done a wonderful promo for a doc nobody cares about north of San Clemente CA.
THIS FILM IS HORRIBLY HURTFUL.
DORIAN "DOC" PASKOWITZ, THE SUBJECT OF THIS FILM, CALLS THE DIRECTOR OF THIS "FUCKING" FILM A "BASTARD" AND SAYS HE IS COMPLETELY MISREPRESENTED IN THE FILM.
DO NOT SEE THIS FILM. YOU PEOPLE PROMOTING THIS FILM ARE JUST FURTHER HURTING THIS FAMILY AND DOC PASKOWITZ.
DOC GAVE AN INTERVIEW TO THE JEWISH WEEK AND SAID "This documentary, this director, just wanted to make me an oddball, an eccentric."
The interviewing reporter explains: "That last sentence, by the way, is not an exact quote. In fact he uses a euphemism for love making when referring to the film and another for an illegitimate child when talking about the director."
AND THAT PART WHERE HIS DAUGHTER CLAIMS TO HAVE BEEN SEXUALLY SCARED FOR LIFE (BECAUSE OF EVENTS IN HER UPBRINGING) DOC SAYS “Scarred for life? I just pray your daughter has the sex life my daughter has.” SO, SHE'S FINE. IT'S ALL TWISTED LIES AT THE EXPENSE OF AN OLD MAN AND HIS FAMILY.
GIVE THEM PEACE. DO NOT SEE OR PROMOTE THIS FILM. IF YOU DO, YOU ARE ONLY SPREADING HATE.
Boy, oh boy. Spred Love, you sure aren't pulling any punches. Look at dictionary.com, under choreographred, then scripted, these things are planned months in advance. Why do you think they're getting all this ink. I think it's called a publicist, whom is hired by Doug Pray. H E L L O

Tube, you're right.
If Doc hates the film and the director, isn't he smart enough to know that giving interviews to everyone who will listen is going to result in more press coverage, and then more people paying to see the movie?
It's all about getting "buzz" on the street, and nothing gets more buzz than a fight or scandal. Look at Barbara Walters. Her book is number one this week. Why? Because she has gone on TV and talked about the scandal of how she had an affair with a married Black Senator in the early 1970s. And fight? At the same time, she's having a war of words in the press with Star Jones over who's lying about revelations about Jones in the book.
And if Doc isn't promoting the film, why did he travel from Hawaii all the way to Toronto, Canada, to a film festival and then come to the press conference for the film with the director and publicist to go into his little lyrate? It's because he is doing the best he can to help generate as much attention to this film as possible.
Thank God for you Tube, you call a spade a spade.
P.S. Doc and his wife have given more interviews, along with interviews of the director and many of the children, all of which will be coming out this week and next. Nothing makes Jerry Springer more entertaining than an out-and-out fight and free for all – it doesn’t matter that it’s as fake as Professional Wrestling, the numb-from-the-neck-up public will line up to buy their tickets.
Anon' #4, you and I know that. They're going after the hoi-palloi wann2bee surfboard crowd in deMoine IA. Endless Summer was attrocious, but folks flocked o see it as they wanted to be consdidered part of the In-Crowd. Anyways, that's show biz.
Tube, you've always got a wet finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing and another finger on the pulse of the surfing industry. Thanks for making us see things for what they really are. You have been, are and always will be The Man.

this just in: due to the blockbuster results of Surfwise, Hollywood announced today that a sequel has been given the green light. SURF WISER THE SEQUEL shall have an all star cast including Ben Kingsley as Doc, Susan Sarrandon as Juliette and Ben Affleck as Izzy. Richard Gere and Mark Walberg as still opting for parts. Stay tuned.
